Job Title: General Manager – 3PL Operations
Location: Morris, IL
Salary: $115,000 – $120,000 annually (based on experience)
Employment Type: Full-Time
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven General Manager to lead and oversee our third-party logistics (3PL) operations in Morris, IL . The ideal candidate will have a strong background in 3PL and supply chain management, demonstrate proven success in driving operational efficiency through KPI management, and possess working knowledge of P&L oversight and financial performance.
As General Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring seamless day-to-day operations, implementing continuous improvement strategies, and leading a high-performing team to exceed client expectations and organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage overall operations of the 3PL facility, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and customer service standards.
Drive performance by tracking and managing key performance indicators (KPIs) to meet productivity, service, and financial targets.
Oversee P&L (Profit and Loss) and manage budgeting, forecasting, and cost control activities.
Establish and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and service delivery.
Ensure proper labor management and resource planning to support operational demands.
Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments (Finance, HR, Sales, etc.) to support business initiatives.
Identify and implement process improvements to drive efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service quality.
Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and operational staff to maximize performance and engagement.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, or related field (required).
Minimum 5+ years of leadership experience in 3PL or warehouse operations (required).
Proven success managing KPIs , P&L , and team performance in a fast-paced logistics or distribution environment.
Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS), logistics software, and reporting tools.
Excellent organizational, analytical, and leadership skills.
Strong financial acumen and experience working with budgets and operational metrics.
Effective communicator with the ability to manage internal teams and external client relationships.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in start-up or rapid-growth 3PL environments.
Lean or Six Sigma certification a plus.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
