The Ontario Center , formerly the Richland Mall, is an enclosed, regional center featuring more than 40 stores and four eateries, anchored by JCPenney. It serves as the only enclosed shopping center within a 40-mile radius and is conveniently located just minutes from I-71 and OH-30. The center is in close proximity to both North Central State College and The Ohio State University-Mansfield Campus!

Job Summary:

The Head of Housekeeping is responsible for overseeing and managing all housekeeping operations within The Ontario Center. This role ensures that all areas of the mall, including common spaces, restrooms, food courts, and back-of-house areas, are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety. The ideal candidate will lead and train a team of housekeeping staff, coordinate with vendors, and implement best practices for efficient housekeeping operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement housekeeping policies, procedures, and schedules to maintain cleanliness and hygiene across all mall areas.
• Supervise, train, and motivate housekeeping staff, ensuring adherence to performance standards.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness and safety compliance.
• Oversee inventory management and procurement of cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Coordinate with waste management and recycling vendors to ensure proper disposal practices.
• Respond promptly to cleanliness-related customer complaints or concerns.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to address facility-related issues.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Monitor and manage housekeeping budgets, staffing schedules, and operational costs.
• Prepare reports on housekeeping operations, challenges, and improvements.
• Conduct event setup-related tasks

Qualifications & Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or related field preferred).
• 2+ years of experience in housekeeping management, preferably in a mall, hotel, or large commercial facility.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of housekeeping best practices, cleaning techniques, and sanitation standards.
• Ability to manage budgets and optimize operational costs.

Schedule:

• This is a full-time position.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.

Physical work requirements:

• Stand and walk for prolonged periods
• Regularly lift, move and/or carry up to ten (10) pounds; Frequently lift, move and/or carry up to twenty-five (25) pounds; occasionally lift move and/or carry up to fifty (50) pounds
• Bend, kneel, twist and reach
