**Instructor/Training Specialist, CDL Training Programs** Teaches students skills and knowledge necessary to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A driver's license Assists in program compliance with State requirements Performs other duties as assigned * High School diploma or GED
* Minimum of three years of verifiable CDL Class "A" driving experience in all weather conditions
* CDL Class "A" license with all endorsements except Hazardous Materials, Passenger and School Bus
* Verifiable clean driving record with no more than two (2) points and/or two (2) moving violations in the previous three years from application date
* No record of Operating Vehicle While Intoxicated (OVI), Driving Under the Influence (DUI) or Reckless Operation convictions
* Must meet the Colleges insurability requirements
* Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and drug screening examination
* No felony convictions within the previous ten years from application date; must be capable of passing Ohio BCI and FBI background checks
* Demonstrated experience making sound decisions that affect a work unit or team
* Demonstrated experience in a role requiring diverse problem solving methods in a variety of situations
Ability to stand and walk a large portion of the work day Ability to work a variety of flexible morning, evening, and weekend shifts as needed Possesses working knowledge of transportation concepts, practices and procedures with the ability to use in varied situations as it pertains to the departmental focus Ability to effectively complete work assignments independently Possesses strong organizational and time-management skills Possesses excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills Excellent customer service skills and proven ability to develop and sustain productive customer relationships Demonstrated basic proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel Ability to confidentially and discreetly handle subject matters requiring privacy and sensitivity Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key contacts to enhance work flow and quality
