Our client, in consumer packaged goods industry is seeking a Packaging Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate will have packaging, project management and communication, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Packaging Engineer

Location: Englewood Cliffs NJ

Contract: 1 Year (extension possible)

Pay Range: $25 - $29 hourly 

• Support the end to end development of New Channels Packaging for Ice Cream Company.
• Support in identifying and implementing gross margin improvement projects.
• Develop new products for Club, Convenience, OOH, and Value channels
• Manage multiple package development projects and prioritize tasks based on timelines, and they will deliver effectively in a cross-functional team environment by working with Brand, Planning, Product Development, Procurement, Quality, and material suppliers
• May require travel 2-3 times a year (Vermont)

What’s Needed?

• B.S. Degree in Packaging Science, or engineering equivalent with Internships -OR- 3 to 5 years experience in the packaging field.
• Experience with club channels and identifying savings/value opportunities would be advantageous.
• Must demonstrate understanding of package development process and engineering principles.
• Must demonstrate ability to design and develop primary and secondary packaging components that meet consumer, Brand, customer, and manufacturing objectives.
• Must understand consumer, business, and category needs and the relationship to packaging decisions & execution .
