Job Description

Position Overview: Responsible for delivering administrative support to underwriting functions and various departments across the office.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provides administrative support in underwriting functions, including data entry, policy maintenance, and member assistance.
• Assists in the preparation and processing of reinsurance applications.
• Assists in the preparation and issuance of binders, endorsements, and reinsurance policies.
• Coordinates with accounting department on invoicing.
• Assists in the preparation of monthly bordereau and other reinsurance reporting.
• Manages and assists with member inquiries.
• Assists in collecting, managing, and verifying member underwriting information.
• Manages updates to member statements of values and other schedule changes, as necessary.
• Maintains accurate and up-to-date records, such as policies and premiums, within the applicable system.
• Requests follow-ups from members according to established timelines.
• Provides support and guidance on various projects throughout the office as assigned.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Travels as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Licensing

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Finance, Risk Management, Insurance) preferred.

Experience

Previous experience in insurance or reinsurance underwriting support is preferred.

Skills & Knowledge

• Solid math skills including the ability to calculate figures accurately and efficiently.
• Analytical and interpretive skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to reason, solve practical problems, and interpret a variety of information and instructions.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of the organization and external customers.
• Proficiency in working effectively in a team environment, when working independently and when working offsite or remotely.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
• PC literate, including Microsoft Office and other system products.
• Strong knowledge of excel required.
• Ability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies.
