Job Description

A part-time Special Education teaching opportunity is available for the 2025/2026 school year at a middle school located in Anacortes, WA. This role involves delivering specialized instruction and support to a caseload of 12 students, helping them achieve their individual educational goals within a supportive and collaborative environment.

Position Details:

• Part-time contract for the 25/26 school year
• Monday through Friday, either morning or afternoon shifts
• Typical school hours from 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM
• Middle school setting with a caseload of approximately 12 students
• Staff onboarding begins August 25, with students returning September 3

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs
• Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to maximize student success
• Monitor student progress and adjust instructional approaches accordingly
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere conducive to learning
• Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with families and staff

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid teaching certification in Special Education
• Experience working with middle school students preferred
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment
