Sports Missionary/ Youth Pastor - Follow Christ Always Church
Looking for a Strong Sports Minded Coach/ Former Athlete/ Gym teacher/ Business Leader/Ministry Leader who has a heart for missions, discipleship and evangelism.
This is a unique opportunity for a person who is willing to take faith-filled risk. The Sports Missionary part of the call is working with the largest sports ministry in the world. (Yes, one would be raising one's own support to be a full time missionary). The unique part of this opportunity is the applicant would also be serving as a person on the pastoral staff of a new church plant that uses sports outreach as a primary tool to impact the culture around us.
The church is located in the Philadelphia/ South Jersey area. Must be a devoted follower of Jesus for at least 5 years. It is a must to have a high sports background. College or pro athletic experience is preferred.
The potential candidates must show an aptitude for being in front-lines ministry; prisons, community ministry, evangelism. The process to raise support usually takes 9-12 months so keep that in mind if one is praying about this unique call. In a "sports-crazed" culture, the church utilizes the vehicle of sport to reach the culture for Christ and then plug them into a non-denominational solid, bible-believing church family. The church and parachurch arm of the church work hand in hand.
