ABOUT OUR STEWARD ROLE

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Steward to join our team at Trailborn Surf and Sound in WBNC. As a Steward, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our kitchen and dining areas. Your attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment will be crucial to the success of our team. You will work closely with our chefs and servers to ensure that our guests have an exceptional dining experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and dining areas as well employee breakrooms and employee restrooms
• Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans using dishwashers or by hand
• Sweep and mop floors, and perform other cleaning duties as assigned
• Assist chefs and servers with food preparation and service as needed
• Follow all safety and sanitation procedures

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in a similar role preferred
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a restaurant or hospitality setting
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to remain upright and able to continuously move on a firm surface for an 8–10-hour shift.
• Must be able to move at least 20 pounds up to 5 feet high without another person's aid.

SKILLS

As a Steward, you will use your attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain a clean and efficient kitchen and dining area. Your ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively with team members will be essential to ensuring that our guests have an exceptional dining experience. Additionally, your knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations will help us maintain a safe and healthy environment for our guests and team members alike.

SCHEDULE

Hospitality demands a flexible schedule that may require extended hours as the business requires coverage including seasonality – on any day at any hour, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

SALARY RANGE

$15 to $17 per hour based on experience
