Overview

The Underwriter is responsible for ensuring adherence to internal workflows within the department and that client data are properly maintained within the agency management system in order to maintain service excellence and to drive efficiency.

Lake Mary location seeking licensed Underwriter with 1-3 years experience (position is entry level) for Back End processing. The Underwriter processes home changes and cancellations, creates accord forms/evidence of insurance and ensures applications/documents are received prior to submitting to carriers. We are a Broker, and we represent over 30 carriers for personal lines insurance.

What You'll Do

Please note that the duties below can vary based on the workflow of your local office.

• Identifies issues and trends and takes corrective action.
• Maintains follow-up and suspense files on outstanding orders. Completes overdue and suspense items.
• Contacts clients/carriers regarding policies, as appropriate.
• Secures documentation needed to be retained by the agency including signed applications, replacement cost estimates, rejection of coverage and confirmation of orders.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Travel is expected to be negligible in this role.
• Follows company procedures with respect to all essential duties and responsibilities of the job.

What You'll Need

• High school diploma or GED
• 1-3 years Florida property and casualty experience in a broker setting
• Appropriate insurance license required
• Strong organization and communication skills
• Tech savvy; ability to navigate multiple systems including Agency Management Software; Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office products
• Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment
