Job Title: Welder and FabricatorJob Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Welder/Iron Worker to join our team. This role involves fabricating and assembling heavy steel components, following blueprints and layout specifications, and ensuring high standards of safety and quality throughout the warehouse.

Responsibilities

• Align, fit, and weld parts to create complete units or sub-units.
• Demonstrate the ability to follow blueprints and layout specifications.
• Use jigs, hand tools, welding torches, as well as MIG and stick welding equipment.
• Work with heavy steel; forklift experience is required.
• Follow instructions to package products safely and correctly.
• Maintain safety protocols throughout the warehouse.
• Perform some heavy lifting as needed.

Essential Skills

• Prior welding experience (MIG and stick preferred).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Forklift certification or experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Physically capable of lifting heavy materials.
• Strong attention to detail and safety.
• Motivated, reliable, and able to work independently or in a team.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in aligning, fitting, and welding parts to form complete units or sub-units.
• Experience in collaborating with team members and supervisors to meet production goals.
• Demonstrating punctuality and a strong work ethic.

Work Environment

The Welder/Iron Worker position operates primarily in a production floor environment. The workspace involves heavy steel fabrication, forklift operation, and use of MIG and stick welding equipment. Employees are expected to follow strict safety protocols, maintain cleanliness, and handle some heavy lifting. The production area includes large equipment and high noise levels, requiring personal protective gear at all times. Safety is a top priority, and welders must comply with procedures to prevent hazards. The site must be left in a 'broom-clean' condition after work, with all tools and waste properly disposed of.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Rumford, Rhode Island.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
